Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom


Juneteenth, which is also goes by Emancipation Day, Freedom Day, Liberation Day, or Jubilee Day, is an annual American holiday on June 19th. The holiday commemorates the official end of slavery in the state of Texas in 1865, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. While it originated in Texas, Juneteenth is now nationally recognized for its significance and celebrated across the country.
