Bob grew up in the shadow of the Matterhorn, literally a mile from Disneyland. A lifelong Southern Californian, he earned degrees from UCLA (bacteriology) and California State University, Northridge (business administration). His first career as a quality assurance specialist involved developing technical procedures and documentation and providing training for those who used them.
At age 50, Bob switched gears and became an inner-city high school science and business teacher. He soon realized the value of online learning for his “digital native” teenage students and became skilled at developing online games and other computer-based activities to reinforce students’ learning. After retiring from public school education, Bob became a studio teacher, tutoring child actors on the sets of TV and film productions.
A strong advocate of lifelong learning, Bob welcomes the opportunity to share valuable information with fellow seniors as a GetSetup Guide. When not involved in teaching, Bob plays keyboard in a classic rock band, makes natural soap at home, and bicycles along the beach almost daily. He and his wife of 43 years travel frequently, often heading to the Pacific Northwest (where their youngest daughter lives), Europe, and Hawaii.
