Join Mike, an avid traveler, and 4WD enthusiast, on a recent trip to Central Australia. Central Australia is the home to the Arrernte people - one of many indigenous nations in Australia and amongst the world's oldest surviving cultures. This presentation will cover a 3 week component of a much bigger trip (24,000 km over 5 months) that Mike and his wife, Gai undertook. They traveled independently and visited some of Australia’s most iconic tourist destinations after first crossing the Tanami Desert to reach Alice Springs or ‘The Alice’ (as it is more commonly called), a popular gateway for exploring the Red Centre, the country's interior desert region. They then explored Central Australia’s iconic natural wonders – Kings Canyon, Uluru, and Kata Tjuta before returning to The Alice and then home to Sydney. Mike takes you through his fascinating trip sights and stories, so you come away feeling as if you've taken a little trip yourself!
