“Cancer” is the bane of our existence and rightfully so, it is the second most common reason for death in India.
Did you know there are over 100 diseases that classify as cancer and according to World Health Organization at least one-third of all cancer cases are preventable!
Over the course of this month, we will be tackling one cancerous devil at a time.
For this session, we have Mr. R.R.Mishra, who will be talking to us about prostate cancer - the most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death among men. Learn more about the screening, treatment, and prevention options.
Mr. R.R.Mishraa has been a volunteer for the Indian Cancer Society for the past five years and has been actively involved in conducting awareness talks on cancer, organizing screening camps particularly for the people who are underprivileged and belong to an economically poor community. Apart from this, he is a part of a team that visits hospitals to provide emotional support to cancer patients to boost their moral and help them to escape from the trauma caused by this dreaded disease. Presently with help of the ICS team, he has been working very closely to provide awareness and help those people who have been screened and suspected of having cancer and need further diagnosis and treatment. Apart from the above, he is also engaged with a few NGOs that work for disabled people, orphan kids, and old age people who lack any familial support.
With proper awareness let’s aim to remove the stigma and fear attached! Understand the importance of early detection and learn to make healthier lifestyle choices
